Hillel at the College of Charleston is proud to offer a unique peer-mentorship program for first-year and transfer students called the First Year Students of Hillel (FYSH) Program. Incoming students are matched with returning students who share similar interests and hobbies.
These peer mentors help new students:
- Learn “the ropes” of college life
- Become involved with the greater campus community
- Get connected with our Hillel community
- Learn about with the Charleston Jewish community
We conduct a variety of programs specifically designed to engage new students and to facilitate relationship-building between new students and their mentors.
Our staff routinely hear from first-year students, excited that the FYSH program made their transition to college easier, and many FYSH participants remain close friends with their FYSH partners for years to come!
